gEt yOuR GrApEvInE oN.....

Well...It's that time of year to harvest the grapevines.....
  • Where do I find grapevines?.....anywhere...they wrap around just about any tree, bush or pole...check along roadsides, in the woods, on trails....you'll be amazed!
  • Why should I look for grapevines?....saves money... you can make your own instead of buying them in the store! You can be creative and make any shape that you like...circles, swags, stars....you can even use them as "arms" for your prims....
  • How do I make a grapevine wreath?....easy...just look for the green vines....they're easier to wrap than the darker hard ones....now get going and wrap away....if they harden (ie you have a giant pile in your backyard), you can put them in water to soften them up again.....Don't pass by the dark bark ones as they make awesome accents for all your prim crafts!! You could use long thicker ones as banner or flag holders....
  • Go on now and get your gRaPeViNe oN !! (I just looove pulling them from the tall trees...its a great workout too!)
I made about 20 of these the other day....leave them in the sun to dry for a day or two...

Try to pull them off in long strands of at least 2-3 feet....but I like when they come off in 6 feet or more!!

Wrap them like this....make sure to take most of the leaves off of the vines before starting....

  1. I used to make the wreaths by cutting dead vines and soaking them in the bathtub - your way is much easier!!!

  2. Well had about that! I never even thought of doing it that way! We have lots of woods close by so it would be easy to do. Thanks for the tip girl!
