Here's where I put a few of the new Santas....on grapevine star hangers....The Santas are completely hand stitched/needle felted....no glue was used....I made this guy last...made a "mouth and lip" area with the needle felted wool.
This is my first time making Santas with wool and I love how they all look so different.
Here's a Santa hanger that I just finished....he's made of coffee/vanilla dyed muslin, embroidered eyes, a pinch stitched nose and white wool for his beard that was needlefelted....I like the way he came out....I might put him on a grapevine wreath??
My version of a Christmas mitten...has peppermint scented candy canes tied with cheese cloth, sweet annie and greens attached to a grungy red & white ticking mitten with a w&n cuff. The top is filled with spanish moss. This sold within 20 minutes of putting it in my booth....Will be making more of these....
Also made a crow in a mitten: not the greatest lighting but you get the idea....
Next, I repurposed an old cheese grater that I bought for 25 cents....added three wax dipped~n~peppermint scented chenille candy canes with sweet annie and greens...this sold for $12.95
Lastly, I made a snowman wreath...he's hiding in a grungy envelope made of muslin....
with a tealight inside: I also made the wreath from grapevine behind my house....
these hallway pics are not too great...won't do that again!! Thanks for peeking!!
Brenda from The Rusty Thimble had a scramble contest and this is what I won....a sweet snowman ornie made out of w&n placed inside a wool pocket and handstitched "SNOW" on the front...the snowman is as cute as can be with the lil rusty bell and evergreens...He's my first snowman to go on my 3 foot snowman tree this season....I'm soooo behind! Thank you Brenda....I will treasure him always!
I've had these wooden bobbins since springtime and haven't figured out what to use them for until now......
I've created some prim Christmas trees which were made out of muslin then colorwashed, sprinkled with cinnamon and baked in the oven.....large rusty stars top the trees. They are not quite finished yet but wanted to give you all a peak.....They do stand alone but it's after midnight and I'm too tired to stand them all up.....nighty night!!
And here they are complete....with simple pins~n~bells:
Working on some snowman door hangers...sittin' among Annie & Andy.....They are w&n heads with machine embroidered faces and stuffed felt hats....my own design....They'll be grunged and sprinkled with cinnamon later on....
This is what they will look like when finished:
Two more that I finished today.....already sold one of them while I was in my booth setting up today!
Here are Brenda's Ornies #4 & #5 so head on over to sign up for her 12 Ornie giveaway in November! She will also be giving other prim goodies away too! Wish Brenda well as she injured her finger while prim crafting her goodies!
Brenda over @ The Rusty Thimble is as busy as a lil' elf makin' adorable Christmas ornies. She's putting them on her lil tree and will be giving away several depending on how many entries she ends up with....so head on over and see what she's creating!
I recently purchased a new (new to me) W&N called warm and bond...It's sooo thick...$11.99/yd but used 40% off cp.
I machine stitched the face very crudely onto the batting, which I backed with muslin then added another piece of batting for the back, sewed all the way around, slit the back and turned RSO. I did not feel the need to "stuff" him because he is so thick....I added sweet annie in the back of the coffee~n~baked muslin envelope, which smells divine!! Ming garland was added to the front of the envelope and looped around the rusty pins to make it look "festive". The envelope was handstitched with red floss all the way around the border. The grapevine wreath was harvested and made by me. The tealight looks so nice in the front when lit. Right now I have it in my front hallway and love looking @ it with it's nice glow. I like it so much that I want to keep it but know that I have to stock my booths! Will probably add a tag: "You melt my heart"
Just went onto my blog today and turned on the volume.....have heard my playlist before but stumbled upon a song that somehow replaced another one that I picked from this "playlist.com"....I was appalled @ the lyrics...very R rated!!!...NOT the song that I chose....so I apologize if anyone was offended. I certainly was shocked and needless to say, have taken it off. I now believe that somehow the songs do get replaced so check your songs now and then. Have a great weekend everyone! Patti
Check out Brenda's awesome November ornament giveaway over @ The Rusty Thimble 2. There are so many chances to win one of her delightful handmade ornaments. I just love Brenda's attention to detail as I purchased a witch doll last month...and just know that I want more of her creations!!
