What is it Wednesday???

Does anyone know what this is? I picked it up at a yard sale last summer while I was lookin' for olde, rusty ~n~junky stuff....but can't figure out what it was used for....hmmmm? It does not open up at all.  Any ideas? It does look cool hanging on the wall but I haven't found just the right spot for it yet.

  2. What the heck is it, LOL...

Actually, I think it was used to put under pots and pans on the stove to reduce scorching. So whatever you were cooking didn't burn, I have about 4 of them, my Mom used to use them quite often. Some of them were made out of asbestos, yikes!

  5. I think Traci's answer is the most logical, but I'd be interested to hear what it is for sure. ;-)

  6. Guess I have to agree with Traci - the only thing else if it opens up would be a corn popper but it doesn't look like it has a hinge.

  7. I have one too and am happy to find out exactly what it was used for. I agree that it looks cool hanging with my other Hums..... on the wall.
