Sweet corn and our Sweet Dalmation...

Short and Sweet:
Here's some sweet corn that I made today: I can honestly say that I don't enjoy sewing on chenille too much...even with smaller stitches I had to restitch.....kinda hard with those lil' bumps...click on the pic for a closer look:
We also lost our sweet 14 yo Dalmation~Mandy yesterday...Our hearts are sad...We love you Mandy...

This was her last walk around the yard....poor angel was just tired and it was time to go...RIP baby pup. We buried her in our backyard. Todd says that they sell pet tomb stones at Lowe's...will have to get one and then plant some flowers. :(

  1. Oh, Sweetie - I'm so very sorry to hear of your loss. What a wonderful photo memory for you to cherish....I'm glad you had a long stay with her...there is nothing I can say that will make it any easier - I've been through it....but my thoughts and prayers are with you. I wish you and your family comfort in your memories of the good times with her. (PS - your sweet corn is SWEET!! love it!) Smiles & Big Hugs ~ Robin

  3. Oh Patti..sorry for your loss. We went through this in September with our big old buddy. Last walk through the backyard & all. He has a special place under the big oak out back. Gonna feel weird not havin' your sweetie around for a while. I believe she is running strong & happy in heaven. Take Care ~*~Lisa (your corn is great!)

  4. Patti,
I'm sorry to read of your loss. I've experienced the loss of a furbabie and can only say my thoughts are with you. A memorial stone for Mandy is a great tribute to her life.

Your corn looks so good! Thanks for the heads up about the chenille~ I want to make some with it too.

    Prim Blessings,
    Jean

  5. So sorry for your loss Patti. Mandy is sure to be on the Rainbow Bridge. We lost our dog Kelsey four years ago and buried him under the pine trees in our yard. It's so difficult to lose such an important member of the family.

  9. I'm so sorry Patti, I just lost one of my furbabies too, and every little thing brings tears to my eyes. Mandy looked like a sweet and precious girl who will always have a special place in your heart, just like my little Calico will have in mine.

  11. Patti, Memories of Mandy will be with you for a lifetime. Sorry for your loss. It's so hard to give up a pet, they are members of our family. A few years back we lost our cat who was 15 years old. I still miss him some days.
Love your corn. You did a great job with it. Try and have a great weekend.

  13. Never sewn chenille - that corn is awesome!!! SOrry about your Mandy - I have an older dog that will need to be put to sleep shortly - she has a huge tumor they could not operate on since it would hasten the inevitable... but now it has affected her by increasing her thirst, and she cannot hold her bladder until I get home from work each day...it would be cruel to let her discomfort continue.
