Hooking sneak peek...Hummers.....and Heavenly Giveaway Winnings....

Here's a sneak peek at my first rug hooking project...wow...what a workout it is to hook..I'm using linen and must be that I don't know what I'm doing cuz I feel like my arms are getting a great workout doing this! Ha!!
Can you guess what the theme is? This is my own design....look at how close my new camera zooms...Yippee!!

and here's my lil' sweetie...I mean lil' bully hummingbird...he chases all the other 3 hummers
 away from the feeder...

These were taken with my new Canon power shot camera, which zooms to 840mm. My other camera only zooms to 20mm....What a difference!!

The wings are so cool and can you see his tiny feet and eyes? I am so loving this new camera...I can't wait to get shots of all the deer that hang around our yard too!

Might have to make a trip down to Letchworth State Park to try out my new camera...Just beautiful Landscape, gorge and waterfalls...It's the "Grand Canyon" of the East...ya know!

These were taken off the web: I climbed to the top of that trestle bridge in the background...many years ago...should do it again...

A bit of heaven in my backyard...about 40 minutes away... :)

Here are some sweet handpainted snowmen that I won from Lois' giveaway over @ Huckleberry Lady...She also sent two cute wooden angels wrapped with beads~n~wire...They will look great on my tree...but I don't want to think of Winter just yet...Lois does great work....I love these Renee Mullins Ornies!! Thank you Lois...they will be treasured always! Click the pic to get a better view of Lois' amazing work!

  1. Hmmmm....could I venture a guess at sunflowers??? :o) Looks like you're getting the knack!! (Just a hint - can't see from the pic, but your loop height should be the same as your loop width....just lay a cut worm along your loop perpendicular to see if you're getting them high enough....Brave soul you are to design and color plan your first rug by yourself!! Have fun...hope you "hooked up" (sorry!) with Cathy! Love those photos of the waterfall and surrounding landscape!! YIKES!! Every bit as good as the Grand Canyon if you ask me!! Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin (And Congrats on your win from Lois!! Cute!)

  6. I have bully hummers too. I watch them fight and chase all day. I would love to have a camera that could capture them. It's not going to happen with the one I swiped from my son!

Love the colors in your new rug. Keep going and show us more!

    Beautiful area you live in--amazing!

  7. Looks like your off to a good start with the rug hooking ~ can't wait to see more!

I use a Cannon Power Shot too. I love it. I've had it several years and it still gets the job done. Photos from that trestle bridge would be awesome!

  10. New camera is taking some great photos girl. Looks like a sun flower rug hooking pattern. I like the color palette you are using. There is a learning swing with rug hooking. Linen is an awesome choice for the backing girl. Love the photos of the fall scenery.

  11. So you've decided to become a hooker, eh? I am gone just a couple of months over the summer and come back to find you've turned to hooking. LOL! That's awesome! I love to see the beautiful, rich colors of the wooly worms and especially the finished rugs but I just don't have time to do this with 3 kids still at home. I hope it works out well for you. Best wishes with it!

Wow, such gorgeous scenery so close to your home!! You better take that new camera there and get lots of pictures, especially when the leaves have turned color. Oh my, how much fun you will have taking pictures!

Very cute snowmen! Congrats on the win.
